Making Flyer Templates Work for You

You may think that you want a different advertising flyer every time you want to promote your business. But what about brand identity? If you keep changing your flyers for every event, no one will recognize it’s you. If your store always has the same kind of sale every fall, why not make a template so that you reduce your future flyer printing costs by saving time on the design? If you have an event every quarter or every season, people will start to notice your advertising flyers if you use the same flyer each time.

You can create your own template in Microsoft Word that works well with black-and-white or color flying printing. That way, you’ll get two different looks from the same complete flyer design.Or, you could use a template for just the basics. You can insert your company’s name, address, Web site address and whatever other information you keep consistent on your flyers in your template, and then later go back and customize the template for each event. You can add different photos each time, and move the photos around, but keep the text in the same place.Don’t forget your logo.

Not only do you need the text basics mentioned above, you also need to make sure that your logo is in the template. That’s your company’s identity, so you don’t want to forget that! Your logo doesn’t have to in a prominent position – you’ll most likely want photos to dominate your flyer design, but keep that logo on there somewhere, and use colors in your photo and logo that complement each other so that neither is competing with the other. You can also use templates from flyer printing companies if you aren’t confident in your artistic talents. Some templates you can’t customize, but those are for the people who generally don’t care to anyway. In most cases you can customize the companies’ templates to come up with a unique design for your company or product, or you can ask that the company come up with some template design ideas for you.

One good thing about using a color flyer printing company is that they usually have a professional designer on board that can help you design or alter your template.Make sure that your template is appropriate for your industry.

There are many online companies with flyer templates that you can choose from that pertain to different industries. If you don’t want a flyer that is too generic, then think about your company and what you want to impart to people that see your flyers. If you want to look regal and professional, choose a template that has muted colors and elegant design. If your company plans parties, then bring out the colorful templates and fun graphics! Just make sure whatever template you choose reflects your company or product.

Things To Consider When Hiring A Graphic Designer

Very few businesses handle all of their own graphic design work. Many companies these days hire outside people to take care of this. A practice like this comes with benefits and risk if you are not careful.

The benefits stem from the wider pool of people you now have to choose from in creating a strong marketing presence. Varying up your marketing and your images can be very important in staying fresh and new. If you are working with a wide variety of graphic designers you will have a better chance at getting something completely new and different to work with.
But this also means you are naturally going to have less control over the work because you are hiring outside help. A lot of marketing campaigns are planned out well in advance, and have multiple parties all working in unison.

If you already have your printing planned out and the designer suddenly tells you they need more time, or what they give you is not what you were hoping for, you might lose a lot of money pushing everything back. You might even be in a position where you just cannot push things back without losing your presence in the marketplace.

So what to do?

The first thing you have to do when looking to hire a graphic designer is ask to see what they have done before. Never work with someone without getting some kind of feel for what they are capable of doing. If you need brochures than ask for some brochure samples from them. Use this as your first glimpse into what you can expect when they design something for your company.
Now, if they do not have any brochure samples because they have never specifically worked with brochures before the decision is going to be yours whether or not you want to continue with them or not. I am not going to voice any strong convictions one way or another because the situation probably would not be very cut and dry.

Just because a person has never worked with one particular type of marketing before, that does not mean they cannot design it, and they might even do an amazing job. I would still suggest you look at other kind of marketing they have designed. Never hire them without having seen at least something from them.

Checking with previous people who worked with them is also going to be very important. Be sure you know if they have a habit of being late with their work, or if there are any other areas you might need to be concerned with.

I know it can seem like I am listing off all of these different problems to watch out for, and I know it might seem as if you should not really bother with the hassle, but that is rarely the case. Sure, there are risks, but if you make sure you have a good hiring process you can cut down on these by a lot.

The art of public speaking: Visual aids and graphics

We all know that a picture is worth 1000 words. But, do we really convert a picture into 1000 words? Do we pick up the right picture that equals this number of words? Studies conducted all over the world show that integrating visual aids into presentations can dramatically enhance the effectiveness and the efficiency of a given presentation by up to 50%. So you can see the unfair advantage that a presenter who uses visual aids over the one who does not. Massive difference, right? With all that being said, we must bring into the table the fact that most of today's presenters misuse these graphics; therefore, screw everything up and consequently, instead of boosting up their presentation's effectiveness, they reduce it to the nadir, by getting less or no impact on the audience.
The above reason brings us to what this little article is written for? Simply put, to help get the most out of your presentation using visual aids as the experts in this game do. So the followings are some tips that if put into practice can produce the desired outcomes.
-Create visuals that help them understand better what you utter. What you say should align what is in the graphics.
-Make sure that each visual communicates only one idea. Do not puzzle them with too much ideas conveyed within one graphic.
-Choose the best visuals that suit your audience, objectives and environment. Too many complications won't serve your expectations.
-Bear in mind that the most important element in the presentation is YOU. Do not let the graphics to take the focus away foam you. They may be the most important tools, but what you say must be more important than your tools.
-And finally, make sure that your visuals are working before you enter the presentation room.Otherwise; you know what going to happen.
In summary, The are just aids. no more, no less.undoubtedly, good visuals are able to determine the final results of your presentation. So,use them smartly. And remember, visuals are to add, not to block, communication.

7 Critical Aspects of a Fantastic Logo Design

When it comes to logo design, you ultimately want it to convey your brand in the best possible manner. At the same time you don’t want it to take up too much space. That is the greatest challenge – to be able to create a winning impact within the space constraints. Here are the 7 factors you need to consider to have a logo that spells success!

1. Research always helps in effective logo designNever make the mistake of rushing into creating a logo design. It will only make matters bad. You need to do a fair bit of research to understand the company, its objectives and mission as well as its business goals – both short and long term. You also need to know the demographics of the target audience.
2. Attractive and unique: two elements of great logo design You would obviously want your logo design to catch the attention of the customer. At the same time it should not be screaming for attention. It should test the intellect of the customer; make him or her think a few minutes after seeing the logo. If you notice some of the top logo designs each of them have a unique aspect to it that depicts something about the company.

3. Simple and memorable logo designOne of things you need to really focus on is to make sure your logo design is not too cluttered or too fancy. This will just confuse the customer. Ultimately you want the customer to remember your brand. That will only happen if the logo is easy to remember. Also be sure that the logo sends out positive signals to the customer.

4. Flexibility is a major issue in logo designThere are so many companies who invest a fortune on their logo design only to realize later that their logo doesn’t work on a product wrapper! What a waste of time and money! Your logo needs to be flexible enough to work and create a lasting impact on any medium whether it is a product wrapper, your company website or even any promotional materials you send out! That means you need to consider the size of the logo and the usage of appropriate colors. The colors used need to match well with any background while also helping the brand to stand out.

5. Never clutter your logo in logo designOne critical mistake people make is to cram in too much information in their logo design. This makes your logo look cluttered not to mention the fact that customers will fail to remember your brand!

6. Use fonts that promote readability in your logo designYou might select a font that looks great on paper but when you use it in the logo it hampers readability. There is absolutely no point using classy fonts in logo design if they are going to prevent customers from remembering you. Make sure fonts are easy on the eye.

7. Usage of color in logo designGreat logo design will always focus on using complementary colors that looks good against a black or white background.

Ten Logo Design Tips for Branding a Business

Logo designing especially business logo designing is a creative process which involves a lot of elements and guidelines that should be kept in mind before the initiation of a logo design project. Following are ten logo design tips which can definitely help in the branding of a business logo design.

1. Simplicity
A business logo design must be simple. Simplicity in the logo design process is not always easy to attain. This is the only reason due to which logo designing is often done by branded business logo design companies as they can produce logos that are simple and visually brilliant.

2. Target Audience
The logo design should above everything entertain and engage your audience. The logo should not be very easy to understand and the message it conveys must reach the target audience. The audience must be given the opportunity to discover the meaning and intention of your logo themselves.

3. Futuristic Approach
The durability and longevity of a logo is worth considering. Although it's very difficult to forecast the future, it is however a great strategy to picture your company 10-15 years down the road, and think about what kind of products and services your company and brand will offer.

4. Selecting the Right Software
Selecting the right software for creating a logo is important. Bright crisp lines with a wide selection of colors are almost always a more effective way of gaining attention than an illustration or complex 3d design

5. Change and Adaptation
Your logo should be flexible enough to adapt to every business logo design situation. If a logo is too accurate or specific, you may have a hard time using it when catering to different customers.

6. Recognizable
A great logo design will imbed itself into ones sub-consciousness. This is due to many different reasons, but for a logo to be memorable it needs to use simple lines and be very easy to recall from memory. A good way and method is to make sure that the business logo design is eye catching and leave a long lasting impression on your customers.

7. Relation to Business logo design
A memorable logo is great, but it should also get your customers to start thinking about the products or services that you offer. You should ensure that the logo relates to your business logo design in some shape or form.

8. Color Selection
Colors can play a very important role in logo design as they can illicit different feelings and emotions from us. Use of color may vary depending on age, gender, and cultural demographics, so the choices of color should be carefully considered depending on your target market.

9. Originality
This should be straightforward. One should be sure that your company is easily identified in between your industry and competitors.

10. Diversity
One of the most important attributes of a custom logo design is versatility. The logo design service must present a regular image across all of your marketing materials, and brand which also includes signs, letterhead, business logo design cards, products lines, and web sites.

How Graphic Design Affects Our Daily Life

• Bubbles in beer glass play the music machine for the beer is ‘alive inside’.
• Freshly picked strawberries and whole wheat grain peer out from a spoonful of breakfast cereal. We are familiar with these sights. We notice them while driving, watching television or even at the breakfast table. We wonder at their sheer creativity and design excellence. These have evolved over the years, became a part of our lives and often helped us cross the bridge between ignoring a product and buying it. In modern terms, we call this ‘graphic design’.

Definition:Graphic design is a mode of communication using visual medium. It uses images and typography to simplify information and addresses the receiver in a cognitive level and appeals to their sense of aesthetics and design.Though graphic design is often understood to be used only for advertising, its uses are extensive. The fields of administration, education and entertainment utilize graphic design at some level to convey information.

History:Although historians do not concur on the first citation, the ancient cave paintings dating back to 14,000BC had set forth man’s journey in the field of visual communication. The Industrial Revolution of the 1820s paved the path for modern graphic design. Early 20th century America and post-war Europe contributed immensely towards its development and graphic design got professional recognition.

Tools:To begin with, a creative mind and skill to observe, analyze and plan. Then, basic design tools like paper, pencil, marker to a computer. Finally the expertise in sophisticated software like Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Corel Draw, Flash and Dreamweaver is your key to the amazing world of graphic design. Why Graphic Design?Your industrial requirement will dictate your decision to utilize graphic design. Do you want to promote something? Create a logo or establish an identity for your organization? Want to teach addition to six-year old kids? Put up signs for your new store? Graphic design can help you with all that in any medium – on print, billboards or the web.
But before you hunt for a design company or a designer, remember:
• No designer will understand your company the way you would.
• All outsourcing work comes with its package of time-cost continuum.
• Graphic designers are expensive.

Tips:However, a picture does speak thousand words and you may not have the time or the creative resource within your company to effectively communicate your product to the customer. So how do you ensure getting what you want at an affordable price?

Consider the following tips:
• Identify your exact requirement, your budget and the medium that best reaches your target audience.
• Ask friends for recommendations
• Visit websites.
• Review the company’s portfolio.
• Ask for references.
• Consider outsourcing your work overseas for a cheaper rate.
• Discuss your requirement in details.
• Get a quote.
• Ensure that legal requirements are fulfilled, printing costs covered and copyright issues taken care of before signing the contract.
• Regularly review work till you approve the final design.
• Make staggered payments and pay the final 25% only on completion.Major Companies and

Cost:There are excellent US-based graphic design companies. Tangled Spider Group, Florida, GraphicDesigns.com and Level10Design, Texas are some companies that specialize in graphic design with online portfolios. The cost purely depends on your requirement. A billboard design may begin from $250 and go up to $2000.

The Future:In future, graphic design may veer more towards a mechanism to execute marketing strategies than remain as a tool to convey information. This may eventually corrode original ideas. However for now, graphic design is the thing of today. Marvel at it, learn it or utilize it, for you can’t ignore it!

Skills Required To Become A Website And Graphic Design Specialist.

Those who become successful graphic designers usually have a unique blend of talents. They are intelligent people who are knowledgeable in a wide range of areas, comfortable creating designs that blend images with words and media to produce visually simulating concepts. Graphic designers are able to work alone and interact with clients and other professionals. They are familiar with the latest technology and able to incorporate it into their work for fresh ideas, while simultaneously marketing themselves, their work, and their talents.

If you think creatively and logically.
Most people go into professions that use one side of their brain or the other. Accountants, for example, use the left side of their brains for logical, analytical thinking. Artists and actors tend to use the right side of their brains, stimulating creativity and intuition. Graphic designers tend to use both side of their brains to concoct inventive yet rational creations. They acquire and use knowledge to create fresh designs and to work within the boundaries of software applications. Graphic designers see how a project may look visually through each stage of the design process, but they are able to think through the progression in a logical manner as well. For more details simply visit www.great-links-toyour-website.com. They can make critical decisions that influence a design and they can understand how those decisions may affect the later stages of the design process.

If you like learning new technology.
Graphic design may still involve a few sketches on a sheet of paper, but the development of technology over the last several decades has revolutionized the graphic design industry. Design layouts are created on computers so it is imperative for graphic designers to be able to use software in their expertise. They also must be able to adapt to new software as technology advances. This may require learning on the job. Graphic designers are able to use their creativity and logic to figure out how software works and how it can be used effectively in their current projects. In addition to the technological expertise, graphic designers have a wide knowledge across types of multimedia. They work with animation, photography, and Internet applications. As technology in these areas develops, a graphic designer must adapt to those mediums as well.

If you have business sense.
Business is also a critical aspect to graphic design. Graphic designers must take on the roles of sales and management teams now and then. As marketers, they must be able to sell their idea for a design to clients or other professionals. As managers, they must work within the confines of a budget as well as recognize the legal ramifications of borrowing from other ideas. Often, graphic designs run their own businesses. Graphic designers such as these are involved in every stage of the process, from the packaging of an idea, to the presentation of it, to selling it to the client.

If you enjoy working with other people.
Graphic designers are communicators. Whether they are communicating a message visually, verbally, or in written form, they must be able to converse and listen well. Pigheadedness will not get you very far in the graphic design field. Graphic designers must be willing to redesign. For more details go to www.instant-audio-mastery.com. If the customer is unsatisfied with the work, then it doesn’t really matter how good of a design was made. Flexibility is required for dealing with clients.

Many of these skills can be acquired through career training at a technical school. Communication, organization, and technological skills can be developed through courses toward a certificate. Graphic design combines the best aspects of art and logic into a lucrative career.

Understanding The Process Of Graphic Design

The process of graphic designing includes the knowledge of a range of information from the audience, messages, page limit, dimensions, budget, rough cut of the design conceived by the client and the deadline of the graphic designing project. Creating a basic design, flags off the designing work. A graphic design project outline avoids confusions that entails in a graphic designing work. A graphic design project outline depends on the magnitude job given to a designer. For a website design the designer has to frame an outline that explicates the content included, the layouts, pages, and unique designs and features to be added to the website. An outline that throws light on the page designs, standard page layouts, components like the book cover and jacket is mandatory for a book design. The content and the format of presentation must be integrated in the outline for postcard, business card and poster designs. Elements to be used must be diligently included in the outline of a packaging design. For a CD packaging design, spine, back cover, liner notes and CD label must be included in the graphic design outline. The number of panels, foldout designs and the material to be presented in the text is covered in the outline for designing brochures. The graphic design outline helps to resolve the problems related to the timeframe and estimate for doing a graphic designing job. It helps the designer to systematically execute the original plan and also to incorporate it in the final proposal. At the outset a meeting with the client to gain more intelligence on the product and the vision of the client helps a designer to know the client’s target audience and the product’s unique features. Better understanding of the client’s requirements can inspire the designer to conceive a visual that embodies the vision of the client, thereby building a good rapport between the two.The knowledge of the target audience can influence the content material, message conveyed and the style adopted in the design. Dimensions, number of pages, paper stock, size of the print and the color used are essential for designing a graphic. If the designer is aware of the client’s requirements with regards to these, his job is made easier. Knowing the budget of the project, allows the designer to conceive and design visuals cost effectively. Sometimes clients can also provide creative directions pertaining to their project.Along with the graphic design outline, adhering to the principles of graphic designs helps in designing an effective design. For any graphic design, balance, rhythm and unity are mandatory. These three components render the design with stability, equilibrium and wholeness. Scale, proportion, emphasis and variety are other prominent elements in a graphic design. Proportion and scale of a design is vital as it determines the size ratio, which indirectly determines the effectiveness of a visual. Emphasis and variety is essential for highlighting the important item of a design and spreading interest throughout the design. All the above mentioned elements are inextricably linked with the efficacy of a graphic design. They are indispensable in the process of graphic designing.

The History of Graphic Design?

The compelling, if somewhat obscure, paintings in the caves of Alsace around 14,000 BC and the birth of written language in the third or fourth millennium BC are both significant milestones in the history of graphic design and other fields which hold roots to graphic design. The Book of Kills is a very beautiful and very early example of graphic design in a form that would be acceptable even today. The Book is a lavishly illustrated hand-written copy of the Christian Bible created by Celtic monks in the ninth century AD. Johann Gutenberg's introduction of movable type in Europe made books widely available. The earliest books produced by Gutenberg's press and others of the era (the Incunabula). Only through the design of Aldus Mantis did the book begin to have a structure that would become the benchmark by which the design of future books, even as late as the 20th century, would be judged. Graphic design of this era is called either Old Style (especially the typefaces which these early typographers used), or Humanist, after the predominant philosophical school of the time. Graphic design, after Gutenberg saw a gradual evolution rather than any significant change, in the late 19th century when, especially in the United Kingdom, an effort was made to create a firm division between the fine and the applied arts. From 1891 to 1896 William Morris' Kelmscott Press published some of the most significant of the graphic design products of the Arts and Crafts movement, and made a very lucrative business of creating books of great stylistic refinement and selling them to the wealthy for a premium you can visit www.magic-mini-site.com Morris proved that a market existed for works of graphic design and helped pioneer the separation of design from production and from fine art. The work of the Kelmscott Press is characterized by its decadence and by its obsession with historical styles. This historicism was, however, historically important as it amounted to the first significant reaction to the stale state of nineteenth-century graphic design. Morris' work, along with the rest of the Private Press movement, directly influenced Art Nouveau and is indirectly responsible for developments in early twentieth century graphic design in general. Piety Mandarin, born in 1872, is often called the father of graphic design. Although he was a fine artist (not a graphic designer) his use of grids inspired the basic structure of the modern advertising layout known also as the grid system, used commonly today by graphic designers. The term Graphic Design was first coined by U.S. book designer and type designer William Addison Diggings in the early 20th C. 20th century Famous SS Normandy poster by Adolph Moron Cassandre.Modern Design of the early 20th century, much like the fine art of the same period, was a reaction against the decadence of typography and design of the late 19th century or go to www.impacts-audio.com The hallmark of early modern typography is the sans-serif typeface. Early Modern (not to be confused with the other modern era of the 18th and 19th centuries) typographers such as Edward Johnston and Eric Gill after him were inspired by vernacular and industrial typography of the latter nineteenth century. The signage in the London Underground is a classic of this era and used a font designed by Edward Johnston in 1916. Jan Tschichold codified the principles of modern typography in his 1928 book, New Typography. He later repudiated the philosophy he espoused in this book as being fascistic, but it remained very influential. Tschichold, Bauhaus typographers such as Herbert Bayer and Laszlo Mohole-Nagy, and El Lissitzky are the fathers of graphic design as we know it today. They pioneered production techniques and stylistic devices used throughout the twentieth century. Although the computer has altered production forever, the experimental approach to design they pioneered has become more relevant than ever. The following years saw graphic design in the modern style gain widespread acceptance and application. A booming post-World War II American economy established a greater need for graphic design, mainly advertising and packaging. The emigration of the German Bauhaus school of design to Chicago in 1937 brought a "mass-produced" minimalism to America; sparking a wild fire of postmodern architecture and design.
